| TOUGH HOME GAME FOR SPARTANS U13 GIRLS |
| |
20 March 2010
Spartans U13 girls entertained Hutchison Vale in a league match.
The first half was very even with the players working hard to break the deadlock. A great save by the Spartans keeper, Eartha Cummings kept the score 0-0 at half time.
Early in the second half Spartans pushed forward and were rewarded when Megan Mitchell opened the scoring with a fine goal. However it was only a matter of minutes before the visitors won a corner and converted it into an equaliser.
The game remained 1-1 for some time until a stunning shot from outside the box into the top corner of the net by Caitlin Hall once again put Spartans ahead. Hutchison Vale continued to work hard and make attacking moves and it took another dive at full stretch to her left by the Spartans keeper to keep the home team ahead. Spartans sealed the win with a great passing move that ended when Olivia Aitchison put a perfectly weighted ball into the path of Caitlin Hall who slotted it into the net to give Spartans a 3-1 win.
