Kelsey Receives Player of the Month Award

Congratulations go to Spartans C defender Kelsey Campbell who was awarded the September Scottish Women's Football 2nd Division East Player of the month award.

Kelsey is presented with a plaque and SWF branded mitre match ball from Spartans Women and Girl's chairperson Walter McGill.

"Kelsey is a worthy recipient of the award acknowledging her excellent defensive displays which she produces on a consistent basis week after week".

DUNFERMLINE 2 SPARTANS C 1

After 17 minutes Dunfermline took advantage of an injury to stand in keeper Bina Watson when they lobbed her for the first goal. Spartans attacked straight from the restart and player of the match Becky Galbraith brought out a great finger tip save from the opposition keeper onto the cross bar.

 Bina Watson could not continue due to her earlier injury and was replaced by Natasha ( Gabby) Robins. Against the run of play Dunfermline scored - a long through ball fell perfectly at the feet of the Dunfermline attacker who at the second attempt beat goalkeeper Natasha Robins. More.........

FIONA GIBSON RECEIVES AWARD

Congratulations to Fiona Gibson from Spartans C Team who was voted Viga 2nd Division Player of the month. Fiona received her award from Scotland Head Coach Anna Signeul during a visit to the Spartans Academy.

Also at the Academy on Monday was Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill who dropped in to see how funds from proceeds of crime invested through the Government Cashback For Communities scheme was helping Girl's and Women's football at Spartans. Around a 100 girls attend training sessions on Monday evenings from under 11's to the Women's Premier League Team.
