Spartans B Women's Team

SPARTANS B MEET SPARTANS C FOR THE FIRST TIME

   28 March 2010

A little piece of history was made yesterday down at the Academy when two Spartan's women's teams, Spartans B and Spartans C met for the very first time in a competitive match.

Spartans B came out on top with a 3-2 victory in a close game. Spartans C team are a very young team who put in a good performance against their more experienced opponents.

With the score finally poised at 2-1 to the B's at half-time, they extended their lead to 3-1 before the C's narrowed the gap to one goal, setting up a tense finish.

Sunday 23 August 2009

Stenhousemuir   2    Spartans B   0

The Warriors started well and gained the majority of the posession within the first half. In beating the off-side trap with quick passing and good link-up play Stenhousemuir went ahead in the first half. Spartans B turned the game around after the break by keeping posession, having good passing play and creating opportunities for goals. Unfortunately not capitalising on the chances kept Spartans on the back foot and they went further behind when Stenhousemuir went against the run of play and struck the ball into the back of the net from a cross into the box. Spartans continued to attack but could not find the net. In the end although having played well Spartans left empty handed.
