The new competition will provide three slots in the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, another inaugural event which will take place in New Zealand.
Under 17 Coach Tony Gervais has announced the squad and commented on the match against Finland:
‘The Under 17’s are a relatively new team, selected from trials which took place in August 2007. It will be a big challenge to play a team such as Finland and the match will be invaluable for the team on the run up to the UEFA competition.’
