SCOTLAND U19s TRAVEL TO SLOVENIA FOR THE UEFA WOMEN'S U19 CHAMPIONSHIP

Tomorrow Scotland women’s U19 team will be making their way to Slovenia to take part in phase one of the 2006/2007 WU19 European Championships.

Scotland are in Group 9, with hosts Slovenia, Israel and Russia. Scotland kick of the tournament playing Slovenia on Friday 13 October at 2.30 pm (3.30 local time), Israel on Sunday 15 October at 2.30 pm, and end their tournament against Russia on Wednesday 18 October, also at 2.30 pm. All matches will be played at Velenje Stadium, Slovenia.

The 11 Group winners, 11 runners-up and the two best third-placed teams from the first qualifying round will play in the second qualifying round. The winners of those groups progress to the Finals, which will be played in Iceland in July 2007.

Scotland reached the finals in 2004/2005 championships, scoring 33 goals and conceding only 1 on their way to the finals. After only reaching the second qualifying round last year, Scotland hope to progress further this year.
