Raith Rovers v Forfar Farmington - Sunday 29th. April 2007
Raith Rovers 2 v Forfar Farmington 1With only goal difference separating the two sides in the league it was no surprise the match was a close albeit dull affair.Attempts on goal were at a premium throughout the match. With little separating the teams Kirsty Scott gave Raith the lead midway through the first half when she latched on to a long goal clearance which bounced over the Forfar defence, she then calmly proceeded to lob the on rushing Fiona McNicoll .HT 1-0Despite starting the brighter after the break Forfar went further behind 10 minutes into the second half when Lauren Wheatley slipped her marker in the box to finish off a fine move.Forfar’s continued pressure was finally rewarded when Nicola Davidson scored directly from a corner. Forfar came close with headers from Claire Galloway and Clare Garrett and their second half display warranted the draw particularly after a strong claim for a penalty in the dying moments was denied leaving them somewhat disgruntled.
