Kilmarnock v Hamilton - Premier League - Sunday 19th. September 2007
Killie win against Hamilton 3-2
FC Kilmarnock Ladies recorded another win by beating Hamliton Ladies 3-2 at Glasgow Green on Wednesday night.
The Match began with both sides evenly matched until a defensive error gifted Hamilton an early lead, when a Tracy Burns back pass evaded goal keeper Khym Ramsay. Killie 0 Hamilton 1.
Killie in shock at being a goal down then began to try and make the ball do the work by passing and moving their way to create chances. The equaliser was not far away with Killie creating a couple of good oppertunities with only the killer touch missing. The equaliser did come when a Julie Smith free kick was whipped into the box and a Header back across goal found Clare Docherty unmarked at the backpost to smash a right volley into the back of the net. Killie 1 Hamilton 1.
Goal number two came for Kilmarnock when another great free kick was put into the mixer by Julie Smith who found Debbie Heggarty who flicked the ball with her head just over the Hamilton goal keeper to put her team in front.
Half Time: FC Kilmarnock Ladies 2 - 1 Hamilton Ladies.
FC Kilmarnock Manager Robert Connelly made 1 change at half time replacing Laura Cooper with Toni Mason. The second half began with Killie playing some good football and capped off a great 10 minute spell by adding a third goal. The third goal came when Clare Docherty who loves playing at Glasgow Green got the ball played into her feet, she twisted and turned, had a shot with her right foot and the rest is history. Killie 3 Hamilton 1.
Killie getting the 3rd goal was more than deserved after a great period of football at the start of the second half. Two more players were introduced to the match with Ainsley Kelly and Jill Forsyth replacing the hard working duo of Sharon Hughes and Laura Ferguson. The match then went flat for five minutes, before Hamilton who have a never say die attitude got right back into the match with Pamela Liddell causing alot of problems for Kilmarnock with her dazzling runs.
Hamilton got a second goal and a way back into the match when after some good build up play got a goal which left Khym Ramsay with no chance. Killie 3 Hamilton 2.
The game frizzled out after that with alot of free kicks being awarded for both teams, with the game stopping and starting every minute for something different each time. Killie did recieve a blow late on though when Clare Dochery who had grabbed a double on the night went off injured with Kirsty Munro comming on for her to see out the remainder of the match.
Final Score: FC Kilmarnock Ladies 3 Hamilton Ladies 2.
Killie team: Ramsay, Smith, Quinn, Heggarty, Burns(C), McCombe, L.Ferguson (Forsyth), McLaughlin, Hughes(Kelly), Docherty (Munro) & Cooper (Mason).

FC Kilmarnock Ladies Assistant Manager Gordon Cunningham said afterwards " I think if you had asked the Manager or i before this match we would have settled for a 3-2 scoreline in our favour. But afterwards i felt although we deserved the win, i feel we can still play better and will play better when we start transfering what is done on the training ground onto the pitch, as they are a talented bunch of girls. I would like to highlight one player in particular tonight who was without doubt the best player on the park, Vice Captain Julie Smith. Julie works hard in training, does alot of hard work which sometimes goes unnoticed and is the model footballer, but she showed her class again tonight and was fantastic for us."
