Inverness Ladies emerges with
a great deal of credit despite being beaten by a
very slick Spartans side. Both sides started
brightly and home keeper Kim Jappy
produced a couple of fine saves before
Leanne Calder almost opened the scoring
when she turned a superb cross from
Laura MacLeod just past the post. The
deadlock was broken on 29 mins when
Kirsty Scott headed past Jappy
and 3 minutes later international striker
Diane Barry made it 2-0. The
second half was a pretty even affair and
Inverness held their own against a very skilful
side who showed just why they finished as
runners-up in last season’s Premier league.
