HIBERNIAN v DUNDEE UNITED - S.W.P.L. - Sunday 31st. May 2009
Hibernian 2 - 2 Dundee United
Dundee United rounded off the season on a positive note with a 2-2 draw away at to Hibernian at a sunsoaked Hibernian Training Centre.
United went in 1-0 up at the break courtesy of a goal from 16-year old Aimee GODFREY scoring her first goal for the club courtesy of a neat finish from a Tammy Harkin cross.
Hibs came out strong after the break and a double from the impressive Stacey Cook saw Hibs take a 2-1 lead into the final 10 minutes.
United not to be outdone, equalised with 5 minutes to go, a clever back heel from Boag found Carol FRASER who’s curling effort lifted over Scotland keeper Gemma Fay into the back of the net.
A draw was a fair result on the day in the stifling heat and credit must go to both sets of players for the tempo of the game played throughout the 90 minutes.

Manager Mary McDonald commented after the game “We are happy to finish the season on a positive note. After losing to Forfar and Raith in our last two outings, we responded extremely well against a Hibs side that started off with 6 international players in their team. We played some good football in extreme heat and our energy levels throughout the 90 minutes were superb. All in all, I am delighted that as a team we will be playing SWPL football next year and the girls deserve a lot of credit for there performances over the season.”
