MCWHINNIE DOES THE TRICK FOR EDINBURGH

Debbie McWhinnie grabbed a hat-trick as Edinburgh followed their midweek Premier Cup triumph with a 6-1 win over Arsenal North. Tricia McLaughlin scored twice and Diana Barry was also on target as the third-placed club showed their confidence is still sky-high. Jenny Davies pounced on a penalty rebound to claim a consolation goal for the disappointed visitors.

“We just didn’t take our chances,” says Gillian Campbell, the Gunners striker-coach. “I think the scoreline slightly flatters Edinburgh.”
