Dundee United Ladies moved up to fifth in the SWPL Table with a 3-2 victory over Raith Rovers at Downfield Park Last night. A second half Laurie Denney goal added to first half goals from Laura Boag and Cat Gallagher saw United win the match which guarantees SWPL Football next season.

The winning margin for the home side should have been much greater however United passed up some good opportunities before switching off and allowing Raith to score two goals in the final 5 minutes of the match.

Manager Mary McDonald commented after the game “I am delighted that we are guaranteed SWPL football next season which was our main objective for the season. We controlled the majority of the match and only let our standards slip in the final 5 minutes where we completely switched off and allowed Raith to score two goals. We play Raith again next Thursday evening which will be another difficult match before a local derby at home to Forfar on the Sunday.”
